American director thanks Iran for being part of Paris Agreement
An acclaimed American actor, director, producer and writer, Fisher Stevens, appreciated the organizers of the 6th Iran International Green Film Festival (IIGFF6) for putting his film in the inauguration ceremony of the gathering.
In his video message aired in the inauguration ceremony of the festival, Stevens thanked Iran for being a part of Paris Agreement and apologized on behalf of US and the American President Donald Trump for pulling out of the treaty.
The film ‘Before the Flood’, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is a 2016 documentary film about climate change directed by Stevens, which displayed on the first day of the festival, attended by special guests.
“Before the Flood” is a film about climate change.
“Let’s hope we would live together on a peaceful planet, a planet which is beautiful and healthy and we do our part,” Stevens said.
“Next time I’m coming to Tehran,” he added.
The Paris Agreement, Paris climate accord or Paris climate agreement, is an agreement within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) dealing with greenhouse gas emissions mitigation, adaptation and finance starting in the year 2020.
